FINAL DEMON copy-2.jpg

2018 Dodge demon

“Designed explicitly for drag racing, the Demon is the first street-legal production car that can lift its front wheels off the ground under hard acceleration. It has 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque. It'll hit 60 mph in 2.3 seconds, 100 mph in 5.1 seconds and blitz the quarter-mile lights in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph.”

2019 Dodge Redeye

The Redeye boasts the 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 from the Challenger Demon, combined with a 2.7-liter supercharger -- the largest factory supercharger available in a production car, producing 14.5 psi of boost. Two dual-stage fuel pumps feed premium octane into that V8, and Dodge says you can drain the 18.5-gallon tank in just 11 minutes if you run the car at full throttle. Insane.

2012 Ford Shelby gt-500

“The Ford Mustang has already been our top pick among the muscled-up pony cars, and the GT500 simply cranks up the power to supercar levels. With 550 horsepower underfoot, this mega Mustang spanks Dodge Challengers and Chevrolet Camaros in the quarter-mile. The Shelby furthers its lead when the road begins to twist, thanks to a well-tuned suspension and sticky supercar tires.”

Dodge makes the 2019 SRT Hellcat lineup even more powerful—exactly what it needed, right? The run-of-the-mill Hellcat now makes 717 horsepower (up from 707). Likewise, all Hellcats have an improved launch control for improved acceleration, a new system called "Launch Assist" that optimizes traction at take-off, and a new line-lock feature that allows smoky burnouts to heat up and clean the rear tires for maximum acceleration runs.

These fancy new Italian shoes are wrapped around a set of new five-spoke "coffin" wheels, filling the aforementioned swells with ease. The Challenger Hellcat Widebody lives up to its name, gaining 3.5-inches in overall width, with a 1.6-inch growth spurt for the front track and two inches for the rear.”

1970 Chevy Chevelle SS

“In 1970, GM lifted a restriction on engines over 400 ci, but in 1971, it required all cars to run on unleaded gasoline and to meet strict emission standards. So what's a muscle car supposed to do? Chevy responded by shrinking the base engine in the 1971 Chevelle, taking it down to a 350-ci V8 rated at 245 horsepower. The top-of-the-line was the LS5 454-ci V8 engine rated at 365 horsepower, down almost 100 horses from the previous year.”

1977 Chevy z/28

“Besides the Camaro outselling the Ford Mustang (198,755 to 161,654) for the 1st time, the biggest news in the Automotive industry in 1977 was the return of the Z28 Camaro. No longer just an engine RPO, the Z28 was a specific model, with emphasis on the suspension and appearance.”
